This is a wonderful native garden shop. The staff is super friendly and extremely helpful. They walked around with us when we asked for help and gave us recommendations. Very knowledgeable and promoting native plants! Shop is also super cute, clean (for a garden shop), and organized!

Above the Dirt is the cutest plant shop in J-town! I stopped in during my lunch break and was amazed by their variety—it’s such a charming space. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and selection they offer. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, too. I’ll definitely be back to get more plants! 🌿

This is a really neat shop a recommended anyone checking it out! They had beginner to expert level plants. From what I saw, they all looked healthy. The staff was very kind and friendly and I didn’t see any fungus gnats flying around or any other pests. I’ll be back when I’m in town!

The owner is so friendly and knowledgeable, I honestly enjoy just visiting the shop for some peace and clarity (even though I’ve never left without buying something!!). The shop is tidy and clean and the plants are always in great condition. The selection of plants is increasingly growing over time with more exotic varieties becoming available for AMAZING price. This is my favorite plant shop in Louisville and surrounding areas!
